Jaguar XK150 Fixed head Coupe

Johns Jaguar XK 150

The Jaguar XK150 was made from 1957 to 1960. It followed the groundbreaking XK 120 (1948-1954)and the XK140 (1954-1957).The XK150 was one of the first production car to be fitted with all round disc brakes, which helped tame its 130 mph top speed. The disc brakes were adopted after Jaguars success at Le Mans in 1953,1955 and1956 One of just over 4000 cars made, this car was restored in the early nineties and is a nice driveable car

Chevrolet Corvette C3 Stingray

Andy's 1971 Corvette Stingray 454 Big Block

Chevrolet Corvette C3 manufactured from 1968 to 1982 as the Third Generation of America’s most loved sports car.

The Corvette is often mistakenly classified as a muscle car, but you see why given the fact that it shares most of the serious hardware associated with those legendary beasts. The secret to the success of the Corvette is due to Chevrolet remaining true to the two seater concept and did not try to make it into a “family” sports car which instigated the demise of other marques.

Two flavours of engine capacity were offerered in this 1971 year, the 350 cubic inch, 5.7 litre and the 454 cubic inch, 7.4 litre, (as pictured). These engines were all about torque with the big block pushing 500lb ft+ approx. 680Nm straight out the showroom.

Both of these even now have a presence of sight and sound that still turn heads, backed up with performance that can give most cars on the road today a run for their money given that the car pictured is 44 years old!!. A 0-60 time of 5 secs is very respectable even by todays standards.

Ford GT40 Replica

John's GT40 Replica

This is a replica of the famous Ford GT40,four times winner of Le Mans in various guises from 1966 to 1969.This replica’s chassis and body were manufactured and supplied by Southern GT in Southampton as were the suspension components. The engine uses a 1969 Ford 302 V8 block which I built using high spec forged crank, pistons and conrods plus Trickflow Track Heat aluminium cylinder heads, all imported from the States. The whole lot has been balanced and has shown almost 400bhp on the dyno. The car should be on the road in late 2011 and should prove to be very fast!
